Vinyl records can look forward to increasing popularity. However, production technology has hardly changed since the middle of the last century. So there is room for improvement here. Green Vinyl Records has started working on this. The new design is on two levels, the pressing of the plate is replaced by an injection molding process, and vinyl is replaced by a new material. The idea is that an LP made with the new production method sounds as good or even better than the conventional product.

The role of Fontys in this project is to carry out material tests and also to carry out measurements in the field of sound quality. The presentation will cover a number of aspects of this.
