Active control of the injection moulding process with the use of in-mould sensors

Achieving a stable process is not always a simple challenge, especially when recycled material is used. The larger variations on viscosity can result in overpacked or incomplete parts with fluctuating dimensions. Therefore, it is beneficial if the process can automatically adjust itself based on the changing viscosity or process parameters. During our presentation we will present the results from our research about the comparison from automated switching techniques based on pressure and temperature measurements inside the mould. Also the results of active cavity balancing based on pressure measurements inside the mould will be presented.
