Composite Additive Manufacturing combines the advantages of 3D printing with the need for lightweight structural components in the mobility industry. Continuous fiber additive manufacturiing is a relatively new technology that allows for mechanically strong components to be made in small and medium series and with complex shapes. Shape or topology optimization creates the opportunity to save additional weight and material. The presentation will highlight the status of the technology and will show examples.
