The textile and plastic industry have been the driving sectors of the economy for many centuries, however due to recent events the industry is being challenged at both ends of the application’s lifetime. At end-of-life, textile and plastic waste is becoming an unavoidable issue due to the rate we consume textiles/plastics. Consumers awareness is increasing, but rather than reducing their consumption the onus is put on corporations to come up with more sustainable, circular materials and governments to institute more stringent legislation. This leads to an increased industrial interest in circular textiles/plastics in recent years. In this presentation examples are shown how to circular use plastics and textiles.
